End of Summer Activities - Children of All Ages

by

As the August heat kicks in here in Texas - specifically Dallas - indoor activities are naturally preferable. The Museum of Nature and Science at Fair Park always has exhibits that are interesting and informative for the entire family and hands-on activities for children of all ages. The museum is located at 1318 S. 2nd Ave. in Fair Park. The phone number is 214-428-5555. If you cannot make it to the museum itself, check out the website at www.natureandscience.org for learning opportunities at home. Help your children get back into the learning frame of mind with enjoyable learning opportunities, experiences, and experiments. Or get into the learning frame of mind yourself.
If you have lived in Dallas for a while, The Museum of Nature and Science is the newly formed combination of The Dallas Museum of Natural History and The Science Place. In case you cannot make it to the museum, the website has 3600 views of the exhibits. The Little Urban Farm museum is unique and interesting. Click on the “Kids” tab and follow the TryScience.org link for a Home Science Project and other helpful activities and information.
Better yet, take a day to drive out to the museum and enjoy all the activities and exhibits they offer firsthand and in person. Even if you do not have children or your children are grown, take the grandchildren or explore it on your own. There are things everyone can learn from and enjoy.
